Martin Siri, known as El Siri BB, is a Uruguayan rapper and the creator of the genre Milonga Perra.

His music fuses styles such as Milonga, Cumbia, and Dembow.

He grew up in Montevideo, Uruguay, and from an early age developed an interest in Tango, drawing inspiration from its poetry to create his first Tango-infused raps. His work has been influenced by artists such as El Polaco Goyeneche, Alfredo Zitarrosa, Edmundo Rivero, Bad Bunny and Tokischa.

He has collaborated with producers such as Semaneiro (Uruguay), Hernan Gonzalez Two Phase U (Uruguay), Leo RD(Dominican Republic), Bonish (Uruguay), Pedro Alemany (Uruguay), Rulits TMB (Argentina), and TMA (Sweden).

El Siri BB is now preparing his debut album together with Tanino Fitizen, bringing together the inspiration and experience he has gathered over years of musical work.

“SMHT” is a collaboration with my brother, Uruguayan producer and beatmaker Semaneiro and mastered by Hernán González of Two Phase U.

I remember he called me one day and told me he had a beat he wanted to show me — even though it wasn’t really my style.

I don’t know if he did it to challenge me, but right there in the bike shop, with a basic recording setup, I stood in front of the mic and started writing while recording the bars that became Se Me Hizo Tarde — “SMHT"

“” My Way (carta desde Södermalm)” is a song dedicated to my family and inspired by Brev från kolonien by the Swedish-Dutch artist Cornelis Vreeswijk.

He also wrote a letter in the form of a song to his parents, telling them what life was like in the prison barracks, with a tragicomic tone.

I felt very connected to his way of writing and was encouraged to create my own version, titled “My Way,” as a nod to my father Carlos Siri (El Charly) — who has always lived life his own way — and to Södermalm, a central neighborhood in Stockholm, the city where I currently live.
